The Proposal

Hary & Shelby were on vacation in Oregon, one of Hary’s favorite destinations. Shelby had never been to Oregon before, so Hary planned all these amazing outings so that he would have multiple opportunities to propose (and trick Shelby into thinking it could happen any moment). Eventually, Hary proposed at a tulip farm. After the proposal, he and Shelby went on a wine tour around the farm. They ended the day at Cannon Beach, where they watched The Goonies.

The Wedding

Hary & Shelby chose to get married in the “hill country” because Shelby grew up going to summer camp nearby and fell in love with the natural beauty. While they were on a wine tour weekend a few years ago, they had an amazing time soaking in the views. They knew they wanted to get married near Fredericksburg and found the “glam” Mae’s Ridge. It felt like the perfect mixture of hill country scenery with the luxury of Dallas.

The ceremony was heartfelt and sentimental, focusing on the importance of the marriage and the commitment they were making to each other. It began with Hary’s epic Barat entrance and was filled with meaningful moments. An “in remembrance” song that was recorded by Shelby’s late grandparents was played during the ceremony. Shelby’s cousin also sang a song during the unity “tree planting” ceremony.

The reception was youthful and filled with authenticity. There was a wide range of food, from southern to poke bowls, in order to reflect the couple’s “foodie” personalities. It was an evening filled with energy, Dallas glam, and fun party vibes.
