The Proposal

Cole pulled off a great surprise proposal! To pull it off, Cole convinced Lauren they were going to church for a meeting, then going to dinner downtown for a date night. Lauren was so clueless that she made the dinner reservation herself. Instead of a church, Cole took Lauren to Landa Library in San Antonio and proposed under the library’s archway. Their closest friends and family were there watching from a distance. It was a very special moment!

The Wedding

Lauren & Cole had a traditional Catholic ceremony at Briscoe Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The processional was especially meaningful because Lauren’s grandfather met her and her father half way down the aisle to assist in walking Lauren down!

During the mass, they also celebrated the tradition of “padrinos.” This is a common hispanic tradition where the bride and groom choose two couples to be their “padrinos.” One couple is “padrino de bible,” the other is “padrino de lazo.” The bible receives a short blessing by the priest and the lazo is wrapped around the bride and groom to symbolize their unity.

The wedding reception took place at Jack Guenther Pavilion at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, an intimate and beautiful space located along the San Antonio River Walk. Lauren & Cole chose this venue because they immediately fell in love with the ambiance, the elegant courtyard, and the ballroom window overlooking the River Walk.

Lauren & Cole are the perfect complement to each other. It was amazing to witness their beautiful union surrounded by so many incredible friends and family.
